Tulio Fumian is a researcher and the head of the Laboratory of Comparative and Environmental Virology, Fiocruz, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
He currently coordinates the Regional Reference Laboratory for rotavirus (Brazilian Ministry of Health and WHO), that is part of the rotavirus and norovirus surveillance network in Brazil. His main focus is the study of the burden of gastroenteric viruses in patients presenting acute gastroenteritis, and genetic diversity of these viruses, especially rotavirus, norovirus, and adenovirus.
